CWA Anzac Biscuits
This easy CWA Anzac biscuit recipe proves you can’t beat a classic. Using rich golden syrup, rolled oats and desiccated coconut for extra crunch, these are sure to be the best Anzac biscuits you will ever make. Recipe by the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Victoria.
Ingredients
- 125g butter, chopped
- 2 tbs Golden Syrup
- 1/2 tsp bicarb soda
- 2 tbs boiling water
- 1 cup (220g) caster sugar
- 1 cup (150g) plain flour
- 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
- 3/4 cup (60g) desiccated coconut
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
- Place butter and golden syrup in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until butter melts. Mix bicarb and boiling water in a small bowl, then stir through butter mixture. Add remaining dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix to combine. Add butter mixture and stir until well combined.
- Roll level 1 tbs measures into balls and place on prepared tray, leaving a 4cm gap between each. Slightly flatten each ball. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden. Cool on trays.
