French Orange Yoghurt Cake

Classic French cake with beautiful golden outside and soft and moist on inside, delicious citrusy flavour. It will become your favourite cake recipe.

Serves 8


  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup caster Sugar
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice or tangelo juice
  • ½ tsp orange zest or tangelo zest
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar, optional for dusting


        1. Preheat oven to 180°C  and line a loaf tin with baking paper.
        2. Sift flour and baking powder together and set aside.
        3. In a mixing bowl add yoghurt, oil, eggs and caster sugar. Mix well with a whisk until its creamy.
        4. Add sifted flour and orange juice and zest.
        5. Mix all the ingredients well until the mixture is smooth.
        6. Pour it in the pan and bake for around 40 minutes or until the skewer comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool down before dusting icing sugar.
